The Beech Grove Library hosted a Read Across America Day and invited our club to do a reading. We chose excerpts from Alex and Me. Cindy and
Velcro read about Alex saying, “I’m sorry”. Theresia and Bongo read about the banerries. Howard and Gimley talked about Alex wanting out of
his cage at the veterinary clinic. Sue and Louie (accompanied by Sharon and Cody) read excerpts regarding Alex learning the word “NO” and “you
turkey”. When we were finished with the reading, Bongo exhibited his talents with his siren, playing dead bird, and counting kisses. Velcro showed
off with her grey boogie. Gimley took the stage and showed his knowledge of targeting. The kids and adults in the audience had almost as
much fun as the greys...
